Green Skills

Demand for green skills is rising across the UK economy, and hiring is outrunning the supply of people trained for it. We fund the training that closes the gap.

What we do

We help people at every stage of working life into green jobs and help employers build the skills the transition demands. Through our accredited provider network we deliver training across green energy, construction and advanced manufacturing: the sectors where new work is being created. Sustainability and green skills are also a priority route in our AI Skills Checker, so organisations can see where their gaps are and invest where the impact is greatest.

Where we do it

Cohorts are convened regionally with local authorities and anchor employers, through place-based skills partnerships that support local economies and keep talent in the places that need it.

How we do it

The funding route is the one we run everywhere: Growth and Skills Levy that would otherwise expire, put behind training. We map the gap, match the provider and report the outcomes. Funding that would have expired instead trains people, strengthens local economies and opens pathways to long-term employment.
